ARE PORTLAND OREGON UTILITY COMPANIES WAGING ECONOMIC WAR ON SELECT CITIZENS?
Since we have lived in the Laurelhurst neighborhood, in Portland Oregon, for nearly 3 years, our two person household has had extremely high water bills averaging $650-$850 per quarterly billing cycle.
This is equivalent to a household of 7-10 people according to the Portland Oregon Water Bureau customer service agents. This is an issue we have been trying to resolve for nearly 3 years, following all of the Portland Oregon Water Bureau troubleshooting suggestions multiple times. We have been on the phone to customer service countless times whenever we receive our high water bill.
Our property management hired American Leak Detection to look for a leak, which they found one at the shutoff valve on the cities side, which they said would not affect our water bill, so tough luck on why our bill is so high!
We were asked by customer service representatives if we had a hot tub, a swimming pool, or a large garden? We have none of those things. In conclusion why is this problem up to a renter to resolve, which is impossible… on purpose?
Is this a rigged operation against us? We have emailed written disputes of full details, with no resolution.
Our PGE (Portland General Electric) bill averages $250 a month. This seems very high for a 2 person household. Why are citizens not being protected from utility monopolies that make their own rules and do not abide by the laws.
